Dell brings in smallest laptop

Buoyant over the growth of slim and sleek and fashionable laptop market in India, Dell has now come up with the world’s smallest 13-inch laptop- XPS 13 (9370), for the Indian market. This is just a case in point how Dell is keen on tapping the fast growing Indian market, especially in the wake of the much-hyped ‘digital India’ initiative. Dell India is the Indian arm of Dell Inc, the Round Rock, Texas-headquartered transnational computer technology company. The areas of business, the company operates include manufacturing, selling, repairing, and supporting personal computers (PCs), servers, data storage devices, network switches, computer software, computer peripherals, high definition televisions, cameras, printers and electronics built by other manufacturers.

P Krishnakumar, senior vice president & general manager, consumer & small business, Dell India, minced no word in admitting their keenness in exploring the Indian market aggressively. “A Digital India and a growing community of digitised Indians, presents an attractive market opportunity for us as a global PC company. We have a clear vision to introduce a PC for every user. With the discerning demographic of entrepreneurs, CXO’s, mobile workforce and next-generation Indians, we see an exponential growth opportunity for our premium, thin & light portfolio. Our new range will redefine personal computing and give people experiences they want – and some they’ve never dreamt possible,” said Krishnakumar.

The company always sees technology as an expression of style for users and it also realises that there is a growing desire from fashion forward customers to blend technology into their lifestyle. The new XPS 13 is therefore a perfect fit to the growing portfolio, the company claimed. With a robust configuration, unrivaled cinematic experience and eye-pleasing aesthetics, the XPS 13 addresses the need for stylish and powerful machines that deliver quality content on the go.

Dell is confident that the XPS 13 will create a market opportunity appealing to the tech savvy, style conscious consumers, who do not want to compromise on performance at all. There is no doubt whatsoever that there is always a huge opportunity for thinner, lighter and more powerful mobile devices that both enthusiasts and professionals demand. The company always thrives on the philosophy of design-centric premium PCs. XPS 13 (9370), a complete thin and light portfolio from the Dell’s stable has been a reflection of this insight and philosophy.

“The XPS brand is legendary. It leads our ultrabook portfolio. From innovations in design philosophy using smarter materials to performance-driven sleek design construction, the new XPS 13 is an absolute delight! This machine is tailored for savouring an ultimate entertainment experience,” said Ray Wah, senior vice president and general manager, consumer and small business product group, Dell.

Significantly, Dell has also introduced what is known as Dell Cinema. And with the help of this, people can watch video content on their PCs with the expectation of a full cinematic experience, including studio sound and visual quality. Through Dell Cinema, an immersive three-pronged multi-sensory cinematic experience that’s unforgettably real with rich colors, uninterrupted streaming and exceptional audio.
