Bajaj Auto introduced its new Platina ComforTec motorcycle with LED daylight running lights (DLR) at a price of Rs 46,656 at Delhi showroom to boost sales in the on-going festival season.
The Platina ComforTec is the first Indian bike in the 100cc-150cc engine segment to come with LED DRL. The Platina ComforTec with DRL consumes less power and also delivers better fuel consumption figures, compared to other bikes with the automatic headlamp on (AHO) feature, the Pune-based two-wheeler major claimed. The new Platina ComforTec is available in two colours - ebony black with silver decals and cocktail wine with red decals.
“With the introduction of this upgraded Platina ComforTec, we have made a superior product even better,” Eric Vas, president motorcycle business at Bajaj Auto, said. Riders would love the combination of comfort, superior mileage and LED DRL styling that the new Platina offers, he pointed out. The Platina ComforTec bike is a first of its kind technology introduced in any commuter bike that reduces 20 per cent jerks compared to other 100 cc motorcycles in the country.
It also sports a ‘spring-soft’ seat, rubber footpads and directional tyres that enhance ride comfort and stability, the company boasted. The new Platina ComforTec bike is powered by the 100cc Bajaj DTSi engine. It also comes with new graphics, a stylish new instrument cluster.
The Bajaj Platina is powered by a 102 cc, single-cylinder engine which makes 7.8 bhp and 8.3 Nm. The bike gets a four-speed gearbox and has a kerb weight of 111 kg.
Total sales in September at Bajaj Auto jumped 14 per cent to 4,28,752 units, up from 3,76,765 units it sold in the same month last year.
