Bentley drives in Bentayga V8 at Rs 3.78 crore

Bentley, the British ultra-luxury carmaker, has launched the new Bentayga V8 in the Indian market at a staggering price starting at Rs 3.78 crore at Mumbai showroom.

The imported luxury sports utility vehicle (SUV) will be sold via Exclusive Motors, the official Bentley Motors partner in the country.

The Bentayga V8’s closest rival will be the soon-to-be-launched 2018 Range Rover SV Autobiography facelift, and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, which will also be launched in India later in 2018.

The new model would be available on order in the country.

“The Bentayga V8 shares the same sleek lines as the other models in the Bentayga range, but adds some distinctive features to create an edgier exterior that matches the car’s dynamic feel,” Satya Bagla, managing director at Exclusive Motors, said.

He said the newest addition to the range is everything Bentayga was designed to be, balancing exquisite refinement with astonishing performance.

Bentley Bentayga V8 is powered by the new-generation 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine which develops top power of 542 bhp and peak torque of 770 Nm, while mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.

The claimed mileage for the V8 petrol variant is 8.77 kmpl as the engine deactivates 4 of its 8 cylinders automatically.

The SUV is capable of hitting from 0 to 100 in 4.5 seconds with the top speed of 290 kms per hour.

The vehicle boasts of optional carbon-ceramic brakes – which the company claims is the world’s largest front brake system being offered as a first. The customer can also choose from 11-wheel designs, including an all-new 22” five-spoke wheel with black painted and polished finish.

The Bentayga comes with twin-quad tailpipes, high-gloss carbon-fibre interior panels and wood and hide steering wheel.

Delivering the true SUV attributes, the Bentayga offers the widest range of on- and off-road drive settings of any vehicle via Bentley’s Drive Dynamics Mode and optional All-Terrain Specification. Up to eight modes (four on- and four off-road) are available, allowing drivers, at the simple turn of a dial, to select the perfect dynamic set-up for any surface or road condition.

As standard, the Bentayga V8 runs on 21-inch wheels, and buyers can opt for smaller wheels (20-inch) or bigger ones (22-inch). In addition, the Bentayga V8 also gets a tweaked front grille and tail-pipe design.

On the inside, there's a new wood and leather steering wheel, and a gloss carbon-fibre trim finish for the doors, centre console and dashboard. In addition, a new colour for the leather upholstery is available – the chestnut-coloured ‘Cricket ball’.
