Rebranding to Radisson

Hospitality major Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has added up another upscale hotel by rebranding its Country Inn & Suites to Radisson Gurugram as a brand synonymous with outstanding service and comfort. It is the first Radisson hotel in the millennium city of Gurgaon.

Strategically located in the business district of Udyog Vihar, the hotel has completely reinvented itself to better serve its discerning guests with its signature - Yes I Can! service philosophy. The hotel provides quick and easy access to the Indira Gandhi International Airport through a 15 minutes drive and is situated within proximity of city’s corporate, entertainment and shopping centers like DLF Cyber City, Cyber Hub and Ambience Mall.

Radisson Gurgaon features two new room categories – Deluxe and Business executive in addition to 28 executive suites and one deluxe suite. Located on the ninth floor, the deluxe suite is endowed with bespoke features and facilities.

Raj Rana, chief executive officer, South Asia, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group said, “I am delighted to welcome our first Radisson hotel to Gurgaon. Delhi NCR is a key market for us and Gurgaon remains a promising destination due to its thriving corporate suburb. We appreciate the investment that the owners have made in upgrading this hotel and the trust they have demonstrated in the Radisson brand.”

Majority business of this hotel is expected to be corporate because of the location. The company has added some additional facilities intentionally to make this hotel more attractive such as wedding banquette space.

“In corporate, we will improve our rates we will also be able to be a better hotel for the business purposes meetings and convention etc,” Rana added.

According to Rana, the reason behind the re-branding of Country Inn to Radisson is that Country Inn is very successful in the mid-scale segment and Radisson is a well know brand in the upscale segment and to enhance the value to the guest the company has added certain amenities, innovation and modernise the hotel.

“Because the value proposition was changing and the owners are investing, to upgrade Radisson was better so we went for Radisson brand,” Rana said.

On asking what are the expiations after the upgrading Rana said “because the value proposition has gone up to the guest, the rate will go up. Rates are going up in general also in India but of course, unfortunately, Country as an average. There is still sub-inflation, inflation being lets say 2.5 per cent growth, which is almost in that. For true rate gain to come to the bank it has to beat inflation which we believe in this industry as well.”

The company is focusing on its mother brand - Radisson. They have recently opened Radisson in Mumbai, Lucknow, Noida and are planning to open one in Srinagar, Jodhpur and Bangalore this year and in Gwalior by early 2018.

“Out of seven brands, Radisson is the fastest growing brand in state capitals and in tier one cities. However, in secondary tertiary terms, the mid-scale brand Country Inn is the fastest growing” Rana said.
