Almost a 100 designers will present their ingenious creations on the runway at Amazon India Fashion Week Spring/Summer’18 marking the trends for the season. At this special edition India’s leading designers — Abraham & Thakore, Anju Modi, Ashish N Soni, JJ Valaya and Payal Jain will celebrate 25 years in the industry. There will also be a tribute by FDCI to mark their contribution with a platform to celebrate this momentous occasion. The opening show on day one by designer Rimzim Dadu showcased advanced technology, addressing the theme of new age power in contemporary times. Rimzim Dadu stated, “Opening fashion week was momentous not just because of being 10 years in the industry, but also because of the creative collaboration with SPLATstudio. It was important to imagine textures and materials in a new medium.” Day one also saw FDCI and Elle introduce the ‘First Cut Designers for 2017’. No fashion week is complete without a dose of celebrity stardom, and true to style actress Nargis Fakhri walked the runway for renowned New York based designer, Kara Ross who showcased the ‘(un) Common Thread’ collection supporting Indian artisans.
