Inspired by Italian craftsmanship, the design aesthetics is set to appeal to the Vespa enthusiasts
Italian two-wheeler maker Piaggio, manufacturer of Vespa scooters, on Thursday expanded its range by launching its Elegante 150 cc special edition scooter in the country to boost sales.
With a price band of Rs 95,077 at showroom in Pune, the new scooter adds a touch of style and elegance to the premium scooter range.
Inspired by the Italian craftsmanship, the design aesthetics of the bike is set to appeal to the Vespa enthusiasts. It adds to the already existing Vespa portfolio of SXL, VXL.
Symbolising elegance, style and sophistication, the new Vespa is set to create a benchmark in the premium scooter category in the country. It is available in two colours – new Beige Unico and Pearl White.
It is also equipped with colour co-ordinated twin leather finished seats, tinted fly screen and an exclusive ‘Elegante Badge’.
The Vespa Elegante special edition is powered by a 150cc engine and has 12” alloy wheels that come with tubeless tyres. The bike also comes with additional accessories such as a colour co-ordinated helmet and all round chrome guard kit along with a front bumper guard.
“The special edition Vespa Elegante symbolises Piaggio’s ownership of the premium scooter segment that the group has successfully created in the Indian market,” Stefano Pelle, CEO and managing director at Piaggio Vehicles, said.
The Pune-based Indian arm, which launched Vespa in India in April 2012, has a state-of-the-art factory in Baramati, Maharashtra, where it manufactures the iconic Vespa alongside the newly launched Aprilia SR 150. It also manufactures a range of three and four wheeled commercial vehicles at a separate manufacturing facility in Baramati.
