The Indian Territorial Army had conferred the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel to Dhoni on November 1, 2011, months after the country lifted its second World Cup under his leadership.

Veteran actor Helen Mirren has said that she once “begged” to be cast in an action film and used her Oscar winner reputation to put pressure on the film bosses. The 72-year-old actor, who won an Oscar for Best Actress for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth in 2007’s The Queen, said the filmmakers “love” to cast Academy Award winners in their films. “It was a little hankering definitely. Absolutely it was. I begged. I put it out there and then I begged. That was one of the wonderful advantages of winning an Oscar. I got to be in action movies!” Mirren said, according to Femalefirst.

The BCCI on Thursday cleared India speedster Mohammed Shami’s central contract after its anti-corruption unit (ACU) exonerated him of corruption charges levelled by his wife Hasin Jahan. Sridevi’s daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, shared the news through an Instagram post, wherein she also mentioned that this film was very close to her mother’s heart. “Abhishek Varman’s next film was very close to mom’s heart ...Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuri ji for now being a part of this beautiful film...,” Kapoor wrote alongside a picture of Sridevi and Dixit. Sridevi died of accidental drowning in Dubai last month at the of 54.
