The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 181.40 points, or 0.44 per cent, lower at 41,461.26.
The 30-share BSE index was trading 24.89 points or 0.06 per cent lower at 41,533.68.

Sectorally, BSE metal index rose the most by 1.66 per cent, followed by bankex and IT indices.
