In the international market, gold was trading at USD 1,464.8 per ounce, while silver was quoting at USD 16.62 per ounce.
However, silver prices rose Rs 46 to Rs 44,691 per kg from Rs 44,645 per kg in the previous trade.
Silver prices declined by Rs 91 to Rs 45,293 per kg on Thursday.
Gold had closed at Rs 38,538 per 10 gram on Tuesday.
Silver also fell marginally by Rs 39 to Rs 45,161 per kg from Rs 45,200 per kg in the previous trade.
Silver also fell by Rs 402 to Rs 45,178 per kg from Rs 45,580 per kg in the previous trade.
In tandem with a weak trend in gold, silver prices also tumbled Rs 956 to Rs 45,498 per kg from Rs 46,454 per kg in the previous trade.
Tracking the rise in gold, silver prices also moved up by Rs 230 to Rs 46,510 per kg from Rs 46,280 per kg on Wednesday.
Silver prices also jumped Rs 380 to Rs 46,900 per kilogram from Rs 46,520 per kilogram in the previous trade, according to data.
Silver also lost ground and fell by Rs 315 to Rs 46,325 per kg from the previous close of Rs 46,640 per kg.
