Audi India launches Q5 petrol variant @ Rs 55.27 lakh

Audi, India’s third biggest  luxury car maker by sales, has expanded its popular Audi Q5 portfolio in the country by launching the petrol variant of the SUV take on market leader Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover and Volvo Cars and boost sales in India.

With price starting at Rs 55.27 lakh, the Audi Q5 petrol competes against the mid-size SUVs such as the recently launched BMW X3 xDrive30i, Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 and Lexus NX 300h.

Volvo-Eicher eyeing more marketshare with two new trucks

Volvo-Eicher Commercial Vehicles, India’s third biggest commercial vehicle maker by sales, is charting out an aggressive plan to gain market share in the growing heavy duty trucks space in Asia’s third biggest economy.

The equal joint venture between Eicher Motors and Volvo Group of Sweden, the company is targeting to sell 1,500 units of heavy duty trucks every month from the present average 1,000 units.

Towards this end, it introduced two new heavy duty trucks in the domestic market on Wednesday.

Ducati launches Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak edition @ `21.42 lakh

About a week after the launch of its all-new Multistrada 1260 luxury motorcycle, luxury motorcycle manufacturer Ducati on Tuesday introdu-ced a top-end Ducati Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak edition in Asia’s third biggest economy with a price tag of Rs 21.42 lakh at pan India.

The closest rival to the motorsport themed bike is BMW’s S 1000 XR Pro, priced at Rs 19.90 lakh.

The difference in pricing between the standard Ducati Multistrada 1260 and the Pikes Peak model is Rs 5.43 lakh in the country.

New BMW 630d model launched at Rs 66.50 lakh

BMW, India’s second biggest luxury car maker by sales, on Thursday introduced the diesel BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo (GT) model to take on archrival and market leader Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Jaguar Land Rover and Volvo cars in Asia’s third biggest car mart.

The locally produced BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo at its Chennai factory is available in two trims called the Luxury Line and M Sport priced at Rs 66.50 lakh and Rs 73.70 lakh respectively.

Jeep Compass Bedrock limited edition launched at Rs 17.53 lakh

Jeep, the iconic American sports utility vehicle maker, on Tuesday introduced a new special edition, limited-run model of its Jeep Compass SUV, called the Bedrock edition, at Rs 17.53 lakh at Delhi showroom to boost sales.

The brand is also planning to bring to India the trail rated version of the Compass to India, and also introduce the Renegade facelift to the market in the future.

Apart from these, Jeep’s future plans include launching a sub-4 meter SUV in the country to gain market share.

New Mercedes-AMG S 63 Coupe launched at Rs 2.55 crore

Mercedes-Benz, India’s biggest luxury carmaker on Monday introduced the new Mercedes-AMG S 63 Coupé priced at Rs 2.55 crore (pan India) to take on compatriot rivals like BMW, Audi, Jaguar Land Rover and Volvo in Asia’s third largest car market. 

The new Mercedes-AMG S 63 Coupé boasts of technical and visual highlights with a more powerful engine and a distinct look to woo buyers.

The Pune-headquartered automobile major had recently launched the range-topping, performance version of the E-Class in the country.

New BMW X3 xDrive30i @ Rs 56.90 lakh

BMW, India’s second biggest German luxury car maker by sales, has introduced the new BMW X3 with a petrol engine option to take on archrival Mercedes Benz, Audi, Jaguar Land Rover and Volvo in Asia’s third biggest car mart.

The locally produced third-generation BMW X3 xDrive30i sports utility vehicle priced at Rs 56.90 lakh at pan India will rival Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4Matic, the Land Rover Discovery Sport HSE and the hybrid Lexus NX 300h in the Indian market.

The company had introduced diesel version about two months ago in the country.

Jaguar launches new F-Type SVR Coupe, Convertible sports car

Tata Motors-owned British luxury sports car maker, Jaguar Land Rover on Wednesday introduced the Jaguar F-Type SVR both in Coupe and Convertible form, priced at Rs 2.65 crore and Rs 2.80 crore respectively at pan India showroom.

The F-Type SVR sports car is the fastest production Jaguar car till date and packs a 575 hp supercharged V8 engine.

The F-Type SVR has been developed by the Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) team at Jaguar Land Rover, and what's pushed to the maximum is the performance of the car.

Bharat Forge makes strategic investment in UK’s Tevva Motors

Bharat Forge, exporter of auto components, on Tuesday announced a strategic investment in the UK-based Tevva Motors, a firm which provides electric power train solutions for trucks and buses. Bharat Forge and Bharat Forge International UK will pick up 35.26 per cent stake in Tevva for Rs 90 crore. Tevva currently provides electric vehicle (EV) solutions to the 7.5-14 tonne range category commercial vehicles.

This is soon to be extended for the development of new commercial vehicles, especially trucks and buses.
