Jeep launched its most-affordable product, the Compass, in 2017 and priced it at Rs 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It is available with both petrol and diesel engines and its top-spec Compass Trailhawk variant gets a diesel-automatic 4x4 powertrain.

Considering the ongoing festive period, Jeep has rolled out some benefits on the Compass and customers can save up to Rs 1.5 lakh on purchase of the SUV. Moreover, additional offers and cash benefits may also be offered by individual Jeep dealerships.

Under the hood, the Compass is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine. While the BS4 motor makes 173PS of power and 350Nm of torque, the Trailhawk variant with the BS6 engine produces 170PS and 350Nm respectively. There’s also a BS4 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 163PS and 250Nm.

The Compass is priced between Rs 14.99 lakh and Rs 23.11 lakh while the Compass Trailhawk is priced between Rs 26.80 lakh and Rs 27.60 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). However, Jeep is expected to introduce a BS6-compliant petrol and diesel unit in the pre-facelift model by the end of this year and prices are bound to increase. The yet-to-be-revealed Jeep Compass facelift is expected to be launched in India sometime in 2020.

It takes on the likes of the Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Hyundai Tucson, Mahindra XUV500 and Tata Hexa.
