The latest India Meteorological Department data showed that from June 1 till now, country as a whole received normal rains at 702.3 mm.

It said the passenger vehicles sales decline would be in the range of 4-7 per cent and M&HCV trucks would drop in the 0-5 per cent range in FY20.

Vehicle demand is also expected to be impacted by the new safety norms for passenger vehicles and two wheelers, applicable in fiscal 2020, and the Bharat Stage (BS) VI emission norms, which come into effect from April 1, 2020, as these will drive up vehicle prices across categories.
