Since 2017, the import of duty-free gold has been going up. As per WTO norms, India cannot apply duties on select products under free trade agreement.

The delays to pass on the money are due to a slip in collections and the states have nothing to worry, said FM Nirmala Sitharaman.

“The government has taken this decision due to severe loss incurred by the farmers following heavy rains and floods in their kharif crops. Toria being a rabi crop, we have seen its sowing as slow as any other season. As this crucial rabi oilseed is sown during September-October and harvested from Febru-ary, the farmers will get better price then.”

The MSP has been fixed for the toria crop grown in 2019-20 rabi season, which is underway, and to be harvested in 2020-21: Agriculture ministry.

In fact, many prop brokers offer Rs 500 per PAN of an individual retail client. By using a retail PAN number, prop brokers make offline order entries in the last five minutes of the closing time of the OFS day by uploading into the BSE/NSE order-taking OFS window, sources said.

According to sources, exchanges system is not able to handle such a large number of transactions at the closing time.

In 41 cases, investigations have been ordered by the Ministry to be conducted by Regional Directors (RDs) and Registrar of Companies (ROCs). Ministry has ordered inspections in 231 cases to be conducted by regional directors or ROCs and inquiry has been ordered against 31 companies to be conducted by ROCs.
SFIO probes 12 cases in last 3 years

Inflows to income/debt-oriented schemes of Rs 51,427.58 crore helped industry AUM cross Rs 27 lakh crore milestone.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the scheme, along with two other gold related schemes; the gold monetisation scheme aimed at unlocking 20,000 tonnes, or $800 billion worth of gold lying idle in households and temples; and the national gold coin minted in India with the Ashok Chakra engraved on one side and Mahatma Gandhi on the other side.
