Total will buy up to 25.2 per cent in Adani Gas from public shareholders at 149.63 rupees per share, representing an 8.7 per cent premium to the stock’s last close and valuing the stake at 41.47 billion rupees (USD 585 million). It will also buy another 12.2 per cent stake from the Adani family at an undisclosed price, according to stock exchange filings.

If we run vehicles on electricity, it would be like cost of Rs 15 per litre of diesel, said Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.

Petronet signed a MoU with Tellurian "wherein Petronet and its affiliates intend to negotiate the purchase of up to 5 mtpa of LNG.

Petrol imports rose to 230,000 tonnes in July, the highest since PPAC data going back to 2011.

Oil minister Dharmendra Pradhan said transport remains the most demanding sector for oil and such a wide base of automobiles will need a combination of fuels.
